Our Story
Annabel’s started during lockdown, when the footpaths around Loversall Farm suddenly got much busier and everyone seemed to be spending more time outside.
It just felt like the perfect place to give people somewhere to stop. A walk, some fresh air, the dog in tow, then coffee, cake or something nice to eat at the end of it.
That was the idea.
I started Annabel’s as a small café on our family farm and it grew from there. Because it’s on the farm, we’ve always had the freedom to make it feel a bit different. My dad, Matthew, is unbelievably handy, so instead of a normal café counter he built the steam engine you see here now, sitting on real railway tracks inside the barn.
Since then, we’ve just kept adding to the experience. More seating, the firepit, marshmallows, events, more food, more little touches.
The whole point of Annabel’s is that it feels like somewhere worth coming to, not just somewhere you happen to pass.
You can have a walk, get some fresh air, bring the dog, meet friends, have breakfast or lunch, sit with a coffee, treat yourself to cake and stay for a while. It’s relaxed, it’s very family friendly, it’s completely dog friendly, and it’s still very much part of the farm and our family.
That’s what we want Annabel’s to be really.
A good excuse to get outside, have a wander and treat yourself afterwards.
What We Offer
Honestly, it’s just a really nice place to spend a bit of time.
We do breakfast, lunch, cakes, coffee, hot drinks and different bits depending on the season.
We’re completely dog friendly. Properly dog friendly.
There are usually dogs everywhere, so if you bring yours, they’ll fit right in.
We’ve got the firepit too, and yes, you can get marshmallows to toast.
That started as one of those little extras, but people absolutely love it.
The setting is a big part of it as well.
You’re right out on the farm, surrounded by countryside, so it feels like a proper little escape without actually being far from Doncaster.
We also do quiz nights, bingo nights and live entertainment from time to time.
Nothing too formal.
Just good food, good coffee, a bit of atmosphere and somewhere that feels a little bit different.
Great coffee, obviously. But if it’s more of a beer kind of day, we’ve got that covered too.
Full range of alcoholic drinks available
Dogs are very welcome here. Annabel’s is properly dog friendly, not just “dogs allowed if they sit quietly in the corner” dog friendly. Bring them along for the walk, settle in for coffee, breakfast or cake, and let them enjoy the visit too. Muddy paws, wagging tails and slightly overexcited greetings are all part of the place.

Loversall Vineyard
Yes, there is a vineyard in Doncaster.
That came from my dad, Matthew, and Wes deciding that a bit of land on the farm might as well have vines on it.
Which is quite a big decision to make casually.
They planted hundreds of vines, and now the vineyard produces its own wine and runs tours and tastings.
It’s become a really exciting part of the farm.
Unique Occasions
We also have Unique Occasions, which is our wedding and events side of the business.
That includes the wedding barn, party barn and other spaces around the farm.
It’s a big part of what we do here and it’s all still very family run.
Loversall Farm Cottages
We also have places to stay on the farm, including cottages and the Hideaway Hut.
So people might come for a wedding, stay over, visit the vineyard, pop into Annabel’s, go for a walk...
There’s quite a lot going on when you actually stop and think about it.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, Dad is usually building or fixing something.
